This trip back home was a very very very fruitful one. I havent seen my cousins for a long time cos i rushed back during the CNY gathering and didnt get to meet them.

We had a little gathering with my cousins, and i am all excited about Jasmine coming back from US for 2 weeks in July. When there is so many of us, how can we miss out a Mahjong session? Haha.. I totally missed Mahjong sessions cos there is no Mahjong kaki here.. =P

Then on the second day, we went to visit Junie and her little one.. The little Kai Feng is so cute ler! So chubby and he is a smiley baby, making people want to cubit and kiss kiss him..

After visiting Junie, we bring my parents out for a lunchie before we travel back. My mom suggusted Nyonya food, so we went to Bukit Timah for it. It’s our first time eating Nyonya food! Geez… The resturant is very crowded, and we waited for more then 15mins before our orders are served. While waiting we kept peeping on our neighbours’ table, making our stomachs drumming and drooling away.. Haha.. And finally the food arrived, we started digging in.. It was delicious and i will definately be back to try out other dishes..

There wasnt photos taken during this trip back, cos my hands busy either playing or eating.. Haha..

* Some photos are coming up taken using kong’s phone

Time has been passing quickly, Uncle Sam has been with us for the past 10 weeks. And today, it is time for him to return home, Australia – Canberra, to his family. His wife and sons are missing him, as we will also miss him when he goes back. We felt grateful towards Uncle Sam, all these while, he had been cooking great food for us and taking care of Grandma. Without him aorund, i think all of us will have a difficult time on settling Grandma down.

Today, we were all gathered at Grandma’s house, intending to cook a great set of food for Uncle Sam to enjoy before he goes back. But in the end, some of the food is prepare by him. As usual, Uncle Choe brings his best ‘Roasted Pork’, Uncle Sam cooked ‘Roast Salted Chicken’, Kong’s mom prepares ‘BBQ Stingray’, and Grandma charcoal boiled the best ‘Lotus Root Soup’. Geez… Now you know why i have put on so much weight these few months, I just cant resist those food!

That evening, we sent Uncle Sam to KLIA. We arrived early and the flight was delayed by an hour, so we went to KFC for drinks. And soon, it was time for Uncle Sam to go to the Gate for boarding. Grandma teared while waving good-bye to Uncle Sam, it was difficult to be parted once again.

When everyone arrived, we started to put in food inside the porridge. Veges, Mushrooms, Sotong, Cuttlefish, Prawns, Fish Noodles, some fish balls. After 2 pots, we were all sitting there rubbing our stomachs. Geez! I shall let the photos do the talking..

Sorry for not updating my blog since Chinese New Year, we had been very busy for the past few weeks. After Kong’s Grandpa passed away, we had been spending alot of time with Family. It had been difficult for all of us, cos we did not expect Grandpa to pass away so fast, especially Grandma. Grandma is very attached to Grandpa; she had been with him, serving him, taking care of him for more then 50 years. We were all very worried about her; she will suddenly cry whenever she misses Grandpa and she even call out for Grandpa in her sleeps.

Luckily Uncle Sam was around with her, he took very good care of Grandma. Although he gave Grandma a hard time by giving her some pressures, it made her more independent. We could say that she packed her sadness quite quickly, but still, at times she will miss Grandpa also.

Most of the weekends we were with Grandma and Uncle Sam; Shopping, Singing and Eating. We really enjoyed the past few weeks, spending quality time with family. Most of the weeks, we had great meals. Uncle Sam was a Chef in a five-star hotel in Singapore, so you can imagine the great food we were having.

Tenth of September, my dear Mom’s Birthday. Again, this year i did not celebrate it with her, only chatted with her on the phone awhile. I was supposed to be going back to Singapore this weekend, but i cancelled it as there is an event to attend. Mom sounded so disppointed; she had cleaned my room, and changed the bedsheets, expecting to see me home this weekend.

I still remember when i am little, i will save my money to buy small little gifts and made a card for her and will ask her one question on her every birthday;

Me: Ma, How old are you this year?
Mom: 40 lah.

This continues until one year, i realise that she is always 40! Every years is 40! Then i continue to probe;

Me: Ma, How come you every year also 40! Last year 40, This year also 40!
Mom: Aiyoh.. 40+ mah. So 40 la!

Time really flies, she is no longer in her 40′s, ending her 50′s soon. Mom is getting old! I really want to spend more time with her when she is still around, i dont want to regret when one day she is not around. Sometimes i really feel very un-filial leaving two old people at home, as most of you know that i am their only child. Although i have alot of complains for my mom, but i still loves her. And she had alot of complains for me too, but i know that she loves me too. Our relationship actually had become better when we are not staying together, cos we appreciate each other more.

Mom, Happy Birthday! I love you!
